Dirkschneider took over the shot put school record from her sister in just the third meet of her career. It took until late in her junior season for her to break her own record, when she came out and busted out a 44-7 throw in Fremont. At the time, the throw ranked No. 3 overall in the state, as well as No. 3 in Class C.
