Summary: Wisner led for the most of the 2026 Farmland championship game, but Arlington made the plays in crunch time to force overtime then win their first Golden Tractor.

The Beef grabbed an early 19-10 lead after a Gunner Labenz 3-pointer, but Arlington responded with 9 straight points to tie the game on a 16-foot jumper by Trevor Toebben. Spencer Batenhorst came back with a pair of 3-pointers to push the Beef ahead again.

Wisner scored the first 4 points of the second half to build a 40-32 advantage. Then Jalen Hueser, who would later be named MVP of the Farmland season, sprung to life. Over the next 5 minutes, Hueser poured in 12 points, including consecutive 3-pointers that tied the game then gave Arlington its first lead of the night at 43-40 with 16:27 left. It fueled a 17-6 Armadillo run for a 49-46 lead.

Wisner took the lead right back and built a 7-point cushion. But again, Arlington answered the challenge with a 12-3 run to take a 2-point lead after pair of Hueser free throws.

The Beef’s Beau Ruskamp then embarked on a personal 9-0 run, putting Wisner ahead 70-63 with 3:49 left in the game.

One more time, the Armadillos clawed back into the game while making 5-of-7 free throws, closing the gap to 72-70. Wisner turned the ball over bringing it up the court, then Arlington found a cutting Jake Conn under the basket for the game-tying basket with 48 seconds remaining.

Wisner got a good look at a 3 in the closing seconds, but missed.

The Beef scored first in overtime, but the Dillos scored the next 6. The resulting 78-74 lead was Arlington’s largest of the day to that point. Colby Heller fouled out early in the extra period, leaving the Beef undersized inside. A dagger 3-pointer by Nick Engelbart put Arlo up 81-76 and the Armadillos held on for an 85-79 victory to claim their first Farmland championship.
