Summary: Pender led by double digits for most of the game, taking a lead as large as 15 and by 13 at halfime. With about eight minutes left, the Ambush made a big run with two 3-point shots from John Baehr and another from Garett Hetzel. From there on, it was a tight, back-and-forth game. North Bend had a slight lead in the closing moments, but missed two front ends of 1-and-1's. On the second miss, Shane Carrender was fouled chasing down the rebound 84 feet from his basket. That put him on the line and his two free throws gave Pender a 66-65 lead with 13 seconds left. On the other end, John Wesch drove and drew a foul with 3 seconds left. He made one free throw to tie the game and send it into overtime. In the extra period, North Bend took a lead and held onto it for the win. Carrender scored 26 for Pender while Jake Robinson and Josh Beutler did work inside for double-digit points. John Wesch scored all 21 of his team-high points in the second half.
