Summary:Pender led most of a tight first half before a basket by Ethan Bauer gave the locals a 41-40 lead at the half.
The Ambush maintained its lead for most of the second half, bouyed by sharp shooting by Garret Hetzel.
Pender came back to tie the game with just over a minute left. Tony Hartman made two free throw for North Bend for a two-point lead. Taylor Williams drove for Pender and was fouled, but made just one of his free throws. Pender had a final crack at it with the ball out of bounds with five seconds left but couldn't make a tough shot and Bauer came down with the rebound to seal an 83-82 win.
