LaChapelle out at NBE principal, Beaver inby Nathan Arneal and Jason Futch North Bend Central Elementary principal Brad LaChapelle has been relieved of his duties. NBC superintendent Patrick Nigen told the Eagle he could not comment or give a reason why the change was made due to pending legal matters. On Monday, LaChapelle’s name was removed from the school’s website, NBTigers.org. Special ed teacher and former principal Tessie Beaver is now listed as the school’s principal. The change received very little mention at Monday night’s school board meeting. When it came time for the NBE principal’s report, board president Doug Hoops said he assumed there would be no report due to the sudden change and instead welcomed Beaver back to the role, which she had previously filled from 2015 to 2025. “I want to thank Tessie for stepping up and finishing this semester and next semester and wherever it leads us,” Hoops said. “We’re headed in the right direction.” “I’m happy to do it,” Beaver responded. “We all got an e-mail,” Hoops said. “We’ll leave it at that.” No other mention was made of the change at the meeting. When asked if parents had been notified by the school about the change in leadership at NBE, Ningen said the district had been advised not send out an announcement as the process continues. However, he said he would be available to parents to address any concerns they may have. After resigning as NBE principal in 2025, Beaver worked one year for the ESU. She returned to the NBC staff this year as a special education teacher. LaChapelle was hired in 2025 to replace Beaver and was in his second school year at NBE. Ningen said a substitute teacher would fill the special education position until a permanent replacement was hired.
