North Bend teen killed in crashby Jason Futch The McLean County Coroners Office in Illinois identified a 17-year-old North Bend resident as the victim of an accident that occurred near Towanda, Illinois last week which resulted in her death. Jacey Buresh was killed while traveling northbound on Interstate 55 on July 23. According to County Coroner Kathy Yoder, at approximately 11:45 p.m. Buresch collided with a sports utility vehicle near mile post 173, ejecting her. Yoder stated that she died from her injuries at the scene, citing the cause of death as “multiple blunt force injuries.” The investigation into the accident is ongoing pending toxicology reports by the coroner’s office and the Illinois State Police. No information was provided as to why Buresch was in Illinois. Superintendent Patrick Ningen offered his deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Buresch. “We know this loss will affect our community,” Ningen said. “And supporting our staff and students is our top priority.” NBC will be providing grief counselors for students and staff members affected by Buresch’s death from 8 a.m to 3 p.m. until the end of the week.
