Businesses prep for street closing

With the construction on Highway 79 reaching the downtown area and closing Main Street, customers may have to get a little creative in how they reach North Bend’s downtown businesses.

Though a portion of the sidewalks will be torn out and replaced, all front doors should be accessible for the duration of the project, with the possible exception of when demolition or paving is taking place directly in front of the door.

The North Bend Medical Clinic posted on Facebook that it will be closed through Sept. 11 while the downtown Main Street is being worked on.

“The construction project will make clinic access challenging and the safety of our patients is our top priority,” the post said. “Thus providers will be seeing North Bend patients at the Methodist Fremont Health (Fremont Family Care) location during their regularly scheduled appointment or shift.”

Medicine Man Pharmacy will continue its regular hours with patrons parking on the Eighth Street. The pharmacy also offers curb-side pickup, mailed prescriptions and delivery within 10 miles of town.
Dr. F.J. Riha will have regular hours at the dental office in North Bend. Parking on Eighth Street or the alley can be used with the sidewalks remaining open. If there is a problem with the sidewalks, the back door can be used.

Brews in the Bend is closed until Sept. 6 and will then open regular hours with parking available north and south of the building.
Peters Wealth Management has opened an Omaha office and Jeff Peters will be there most of the time during upgrade. He can still be contacted at his North Bend business phone number.

The North Bend Eagle, Studio A Dance Academy, North Bend Insurance, Platte Valley Bank, Corner Cafe, City Hall, A Little Off the Top, North Bend Locker Plant, Shear Design, Emanuel Custom Welding and Red Brick Hair Chix will have regular hours with parking available on side streets or alleys.
