Local churches set Christmas schedulesPublished 12/16/15 Christmas is a little more than a week away and area churches will be holding special services to celebrate this special time of the year.
St. Peter Lutheran Church will have the Sunday school children’s worship program is Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 6:30 p.m. The Little Lamb Preschool program is Thursday, Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. Christmas Eve candlelight worship will be at 5:30. New Year’s Eve Service with communion will be Thursday, Dec. 31 at 6 p.m. St. Charles Catholic Church will have Christmas Eve Mass at 4:30 p.m. and midnight. St. Leo Catholic Church in Snyder will have Christmas Eve Mass at 6:30 p.m. and will hold Christmas Day Mass at 9 a.m. St. George Catholic will have visiting priests assisting with confessions on Dec. 20 from 4 p.m. until all confessions are heard. Christmas Eve Mass will be at 6 p.m. and Christmas Day Mass at 9 a.m. Sacred Heart Catholic will sing Christmas hymns at 11:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve with Mass at midnight. New Years Day Mass will begin at 9 a.m. St. John’s Ridgeley Lutheran near Scribner will have its Sunday school Christmas program at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 20. On Christmas Eve there will be a service at 6:30 p.m. and on Christmas Day there will be a 10 a.m. service. The United Presbyterian Church will hold Christmas Eve candlelight service with communion at 5 p.m. on the 24th. Ames Community Church will have a 6 p.m. Christmas Eve service. St. Matthew Lutheran in Pleasant Valley is planning to have a Christmas Eve candlelight service of lessons and carols beginning at 7 p.m. The church, which closed in 2002, is located near the intersection of county roads L and 4, eight miles north and three miles west of North Bend.. <<Back to the front page |
