Though he came up just short of the elusive 7-foot mark, Mike Settles reached the height of his high jump career at the Running Tiger-Cadet Invite his senior year. As a junior, his jump of 6-10.25 set a state district record. The next week, he won the all-class state championship with a jump of 6-8. He ended his career with three state medals after placing third as a sophomore and sixth as a senior. |
