Summary: The upsets in the Farmland Basketball League playoffs kept rolling in Sunday.
The North Bend town team overcame a 13-point deficit to defeat the league’s top seed, the West Point Fighting Elk, 90-87.
Tony Hartman scored nine of North Bend’s first 14 points in the post, but he was about the only Ambush player hitting shots as the Elk built a lead.
Garrett Hetzel, a West Point graduate playing in his former home gym, got hot for North Bend in the second half, where he scored 13 of his 18 points. Kale Wietfeld added a 3-pointer while getting fouled to bring the Ambush back into the game in the second half.
Wietfeld also overcame a cold start to score 18 second-half points to end up with a team-high 26.
West Point mounted one final charge with Nick Kroon sinking a trio of 3-pointers in the final minute, but Jon Baehr and Tyler Bauymert combined to make six straight free throws to seal the win. Baumert ended with17 points.
