NORTH BEND - With the retirement of Martha Settles, owner and director of the only preschool available in North Bend, St. Peter Lutheran Church has taken advantage of an opportunity to provide a preschool option to young children in the North Bend area. The church family has approved a proposal to begin a preschool in Sept. 2012 with a certified teacher and curriculum.

The preschool will serve primarily 3-year-old children (children must turn 3 before July 31, 2012, and not turn 4 before that same date) and other children in the area (4 and 5 year olds) who are eligible for and choose not to enter Kindergarten in the 2012-2013 school year.

Three sessions of Little Lamb preschool will be offered:

• Monday/Wednesday: 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. – Three-year-old class (12 students)
• Tuesday/Thursday; 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. – Three-year-old class (12 students)
• Monday/Wednesday/Thursday: 12:30 p.m.-3 p.m. – Four- and five-year-old class (12 students).

This preschool will be open to all community members interested in additional schooling for their child. Completed applications will be reviewed and accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The cost of this Christian-based preschool will be $55 per month for the three-year-old classes and $80 per month for the 4 - and/or 5 - year-old class. In addition, there will be a $35 initial registration/supply fee for all students.

The main objectives of Little Lamb Preschool are to help children know that Jesus is our Savior and our very best friend and to provide opportunities and experiences for children to explore, think and learn in age-appropriate ways that equip them for success in kindergarten and beyond.
