After not beating Scribner-Snyder for the first two years of the Farmland League, the North Bend Ambush beat their rivals to the north for the second time in week to claim the 2010 Farmland League championship.
All 11 Ambush players who suited up scored in the game, but it was Brent Karnatz who set the tone with deadly shooting early on.
North Bend led 20-14 after the first quarter, but Scribner-Snyder stormed back in the early portion of the second period. Sharp shooting by Casey Beck and Tim Wobken sparked a 9-0 run and gave the Wild Boars a 23-20 lead.
The Ambush countered with some distance shooting of their own as John Wesch connected from deep and Karnatz continued his barrage of threes and pull-up jumpers. Karnatz had 20 points at halftime as North Bend led by four.
By the end of the third period, the Ambush lead was 10 and continued to swell in the fourth period for a 78-61 final, giving the Boars their second loss in the league finals in as many years.
Karnatz led all scorers with 28 points, including six three-pointers. Wesch added 11 for North Bend.
Beck poured in 20 points for the Boars and Wobken had five three-pointers for 15 points. Zach Byrd was also in double figures for S-S with 12 points.
