The Old Settlers parade for the youngsters has returned once again.

Old Settlers Kiddie Parade

It will be held Saturday, June 23, on Locust Street by the city park. St. Peter Lutheran Church and the North Bend Eagle are sponsoring the parade.

The categories for the parade are: individuals, groups of two or more and “ride-ons” (bikes, scooters, battery operated cars).

The kiddie parade has been a part of Old Settlers since at least 1959 when it was noted in the North Bend History Book that it joined the big parade on Main Street and continued on to the city park. It has been part of Old Settlers off and on through the years, revived by the Eagle in 2006 for the sesquicentennial celebration. It was not held in 2017, but is being brought back in 2018 as a joint effort of St. Peter Lutheran Church and the Eagle.

Children up to fourth grade are invited to join in the fun, decorate themselves or a wheeled toy and come to the west side of the city park at 2:30 p.m. June 23 to register for the 3 p.m. parade.

The public is invited to come see the 3 p.m. parade.
