Highway 30 expressway work to start Sept. 4

Published 8/29/18

OMAHA — Weather permitting, work will begin Sept. 4 on the new alignment of US Highway 30 between Rogers and North Bend, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

This construction is part of the Highway 30 expressway expansion. There will be intermittent county road closures and temporary roadways. The anticipated completion date is Nov. 2020.

Hawkins Construction Company is the contractor on this project. Marvin Lech, P.E., is the district construction engineer.

Motorists are urged to drive cautiously through construction zones, along detours and selected alternate routes.

The four lane divided roadway has been discussed for over 30 years. It was initially shelved in 2008, but is being built as a result of the Build Nebraska Act of 2011.

An east segment, from North Bend to Fremont, is in future plans.
