Terry and Gaye Homer were pleased with all the calls they received regarding recycling in North Bend and have decided to proceed with organizing some sort of recycling in North Bend.

“More than half of the items thrown in our trash could be recycled,” Gaye Homer said. “The containers which were provided were always full and the majority of it was not trash. There is a way to provide recycling for North Bend.”

To gather information and brainstorm ideas, the Homers are organizing two meetings, Nov. 1 and Nov. 8. They have invited people to speak to the group about successful recycling programs. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Historic Platte Valley Bank (recently restored building north of present bank building).

Anyone with interest in recycling in the community is invited to attend to one or both meetings.
