Library to plan future of North Bend

The North Bend Library will be jumping though some considerable hoops to keep its accreditation with the Nebraska Library Commission.

Library director Amy Reznicek gave the North Bend City Council a summary of the tasks ahead of her at the May 17 council meeting.

The NLC requires libraries to undertake a community strategic planning project as part of the accreditation process.

Reznicek started this process by sending home surveys with North Bend Elementary parents and several other community groups. The survey asks people what they think are the strengths and weaknesses of the North Bend community at its quality of life.

Next, Reznicek will have to form a committee of community members to address items the survey said were the most critical issues and changes needed in the community.
