NBC Booster Club may fold

The North Bend Booster Club was formed in 1995 as a way to help better, and simplify, the lives of students and their families.

But in its 21st year, the club might be passing away, not due to lack of participation, but because no parent is willing to step forward and take leadership in the organization.

Shirley Johnson has served as president this past year without a vice-president, the person who usually steps into the president’s role.

“We had a good response to the sign-up sheet online and parents were willing to help with events,” Johnson said. “But no one is willing to take over. It is a big job, but I didn’t let myself get overwhelmed with the big picture. I took it month by month and it was manageable.”
