
Board looks at teams, land, clubsby Mary Le Arneal The North Bend Public Schools Board of Education had an additional January meeting to cover all the material necessary for the month. Items covered included a letter of inquiry from the Scribner-Snyder school board expressing interest in co-oping their basketball programs with NBC. The letter was sent to two other school districts also. A conversational meeting has been held with representatives of both school districts attending. NBC board members expressed the stipulation that all games and practices would be held at NBC. The board approved the purchase
of land from Henry and
Lillian Oestmann, just east of
the elementary school. The elementary
school has no room
to expand in three directions
with the only open land to the
east. Rick Hobza had spoken to Superintendent Dan Endorf said there are no plans at this time for the house and land, and the board will develop a long term plan for its use in the next year. The board approved the reinstating the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club and the Art Club in the extracurricular activities offerings. “With the school increasing in size we need to offer such things as these activities in our school,” Endorf said. Math teacher Aubrey Miller will be the sponsor for the FBLA. She plans to attend the FBLA state convention and will develop a program for NBC for the 2014-2015 school year.
