Two men have been arrested in connection with the July 24 break-in at Ron’s Pharmacy in North Bend.

As reported in last week’s Eagle, the burglars smashed the front door of Ron’s Pharmacy, stealing narcotics and a small amount of cash.

A few days later, Jason Arnold, 36, of Scribner and Kyle Kruger, 24, of Fremont were arrested on July 27 after a III-CORPS Drug Task Force informant acquired information during a routine controlled substance purchase.

Deputy Chief of Police Jeff Elliott said the Fremont Police and Dodge County Emergency Response Unit - a joint city/county swat team - executed a search warrant at 4 a.m. on July 28. During the search police found $50,000 worth of prescription drugs and a loaded handgun.

The burglary at Ron’s is linked to several break-ins in Fremont where prescription medications were stolen, as well as three attempted break-ins of residential homes in Scribner.

Arnold is being charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance and accessory to a felony.

Kruger faces 12 counts of burglary, including robberies in North Bend, Scribner and Fremont, three counts of attempted burglary, one count of possession of stolen property, one count of possession of a firearm while in violation of the Controlled Substance Act and one count of possession and attempt to deliver a controlled substance.

Although arrests have been made, police expect further developments.

“The investigation is ongoing and we anticipate more arrests,” Elliott said.
