Tom Mullally
Candidate challenging for North Bend City Council

Published 10/27/10

Tom Mullally

Tom Mullally is challenging for one of the two contested seats on the council.

What prompted you to run for the city council?
There is no one particular current issue that persuaded me to file for council. In the past I have disagreed with or had some concerns about what the city was doing and I don’t want to sit by and wait for the next issue to come up without getting involved in the process.

Why do you think you make a good candidate for council?
I can usually see both sides of an issue and I am good at solving problems.

What challenges do you see North Bend facing in the near future, and how do you propose dealing with them?
1.) Lack of growth - Find ways to encourage businesses in town, especially on Main Street.
2.) Lack of grant money - Apply for and secure more grant money every year.
3.) Drainage - North Bend has limited storm sewers and obviously limited altitude, but I think we need to look into improving what storm sewers we have.
4.) Pool discipline - I think the city needs to look into making Pool Manager an adult position.

Anything else you’d like to say?
I would like to thank the people of North Bend for considering me for council and if they choose to elect me, I look forward to working with them.
