Leota Cahall grew up in North Bend and loves her hometown. But her feelings for her hometown have been tainted.

Cahall, 86, was burglarized and is offering a $1,000 reward for information that will lead to the recovery of her stolen property.

The only items stolen were personal jewelry.

“There was a camera sitting nearby and they didn’t take that.” Cahall said.
The jewelry taken are items she inherited from her mother or were gifts from her late husband. She last saw them Sept. 8 when she wore some of the items. The next day she was out of town and then was home for two days. On Saturday Cahall went to put on jewelry and at that time noted everything was gone. She notified the Dodge County Sheriff Department and they are investigating.

Cahall said this is the first time she has ever been robbed.

“I have lived a lot of places in my life and I have to come home to my hometown to be robbed,” Cahall said. ”It makes me feel sick.”

Cahall is asking for the public’s assistance in recovering her property. If you have any information about the robbery or the whereabouts of her jewelry, Cahall asks that you call the Dodge County Sheriff Department at 652-3535 or her at 321-777-0164. The $1,000 will go to the person with information that leads to the recovery of Cahall’s jewelry.

Cahall is the daughter of Dr. F.T. Fridrich, a long time North Bend dentist. He and his wife, Loretta, built their home in 1914. Cahall still maintains the home and the recent incident was the first time the house has ever been broken into.
