Husker Hoops vs. North Bend

An estimated 1,100 fans nearly filled the NBC gymnasium Sunday to watch a local “all-star” team take on a group of seniors from last season’s Husker football team.

Fans were treated to some high-flying dunks, mostly by the former Husker players, a halftime ceremony honoring North Bend native and Husker senior Jake Wesch, as well as a post game autograph session. During the game, players picked someone out of the crowd to shoot free throws after fouls.
On account of the referees being too fat to get around, or being out too late the night before, some fouls were overlooked, and others simply made up, leading to the Huskers winning the game.

Husker seniors participating were Cody Glenn, Armando Murillo, Zach Potter, Nate Swift, Todd Peterson, T.J. O’Leary, Beau Davis, Ty Steinkuhler, Tyler Wortman, Shukree Barfield and Jake Wesch.

Representing North Bend were Brent Karnatz, Fred Ladehoff, Aaron Sterup, John Wesch, Aaron Nelson, Nathan Arneal, Jason Saalfeld, Donna (Chvatal) Schuetz, John Schuetz, Kendra Voss and Mark Flamme.h.
