E-subscriptions now availableby Nathan Arneal
Certainly, we hope you enjoy northbendeagle.com, but as readers know, only a fraction of what appears in the print edition of the Eagle is posted online. Now we are able to offer readers e-subscriptions, enabling people to read the actual print edition right on their computer screens. This is not a web version of the paper, these are the actual pages of the Eagle scanned in. We feel this is an ideal option for overseas readers and those far away. With changes in postal rates over the past couple of years, an overseas subscription to the Eagle costs $146 per year. Then you get you paper weeks after its publication date.
Timely: An e-subscription will let readers around the world read the paper in a much more timely fashion. The Eagle is published Wednesdays, and the e-version will be up ready for viewing by Friday of the same week, and is usually up by Thursday. Cost effective: An e-subscription will cost the same as an in-state subscription, $27 per year. Sure beats $146 if your overseas, and is slightly cheaper than the $30 per year out-of-state rate. Want both? If you want access to the e-version and still want the regular physical paper delivered to you, you can tack on an e-subscription for just $10 per year. Search it! One of the neat features of the e-subscription is that it is searchable. You can enter in a key word, say "girls basketball" or "new library" or "Emily Johnson" and it will show you all the pages where your phrase appears. Try it. If you think this is something you might be interested in, contact us and we'll give you a free one-month trial of an e-subscription. If you are interested, send us the following information: your name; your mailing address and your e-mail. I don't know why it needs to know your mailing address for an online subscription, but the program requires it. One drawback of the e-sub is that the pictures will be very dark and barely discernable. <<Back to the front page
