Boys Scouts collecting funds for tornado victims

posted 6/24/08

The June 11 tornado touching down at the Boy Scout Little Sioux camp touched many people. The loss of four young lives and destruction of the camp has touched Boy Scouts everywhere. Many North Bend residents were initially concerned that some of our own Scouts might have been attending the camp, luckily they were not.

As a way to help the Mid-American Boy Scout Council regroup and move forward following this tragedy, North Bend’s Troop 110 will be collecting monetary donations to help rebuild the camp.

The local troop will be accepting donations at their concession stand at Foltz Field, in the city park during the Old Settlers celebration.
Checks should be made out to Boy Scouts of America with “Little Sioux Camp” in the memo.

This donation will go directly to rebuilding the demolished buildings and cleanup of the camp site and grounds. Contibutions of any amount will be appreciated.
